Teenager shot to death in Lower 9th Ward
A teenager was shot and killed Friday night in the Lower 9th Ward, police said.
Orleans Parish Coroner Jeffrey Rouse identified the victim Saturday as Malik Braddy, 18.
He was shot just after 10 p.m. in the 1600 block of Lizardi Street near North Derbigny Street, police said.
Officers found Braddy lying in the street. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene.

Tulane student assaulted at knifepoint
A Tulane University student was assaulted at knifepoint when he was walking near the campus early Saturday morning.
The male student was on Oak Street near Pine Street about 4:20 a.m. when he was confronted by a man carrying a knife, according to the Tulane University Police Department. He was able to break free and get away from the man.
The assailant was described as possibly Hispanic, about 5-foot-8 and wearing a white T-shirt with blue lettering.

Suspect sought in French Quarter robbery
New Orleans police are asking the public for help in finding a man wanted in connection with a robbery that happened Friday in the French Quarter.
A 51-year-old woman told police she was robbed while she was making a phone call about 12:10 p.m. in the 400 block of North Peters Street.
As she held the cellphone, a man came up behind her, knocked it out of her hand and fled with it on foot toward the Mississippi River.
The suspect is described as a black man with a dark complexion and short hair who is about 5-foot-5 and 145 pounds. He was wearing a black T-shirt and long black pants.

Suspect sought in 9th Ward battery
New Orleans police are looking for a man wanted in connection with an aggravated battery that happened Tuesday in the Upper 9th Ward.
A 61-year-old man was in the 1400 block of Poland Avenue about 5:30 p.m. when he saw another man get out of a red pickup and walk toward him, police said.
The victim said the two got into an argument, and the other man picked up a shovel and started hitting him with it. The man struck him several times, causing a broken arm and lacerations to the head. The assailant fled into a nearby residence.
The suspect was described as a black man between 55 and 59 years old, 5-foot-10 and with short hair. Police said he was wearing long khaki pants and a short-sleeve striped shirt.
Woman, daughter robbed in Uptown
The NOPD is asking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery Friday in the 1200 block of Dufossat Street in Uptown.
About 11:40 a.m., a 61-year-old woman was visiting her daughter’s residence, but as she approached the front door, the man walked up from behind, placed a pistol in her back and ordered her into the residence. Once inside, the suspect took money and jewelry from the two victims and fled on foot.
The suspect is described as a black man between 20 and 30, about 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds. He was wearing all dark clothing with a navy blue bandana covering his face.

Man stabbed Friday night in Treme
A 49-year-old man was stabbed Friday in the Treme area of New Orleans, police said.
The man was in a verbal fight with someone about 10:35 p.m. in the 1400 block of North Claiborne Avenue when the argument turned physical. The victim was stabbed several times.
The man was transported to the hospital and taken into surgery.
Armed robbery reported in 7th Ward
New Orleans police are investigating an armed robbery that happened just before midnight Friday in the 7th Ward.
Four men were sitting on a porch in the 1900 block of North Johnson Street when a man came up to them and pointed a black revolver at them, police said.
The man demanded their belongings. When they complied, he fled in a brown vehicle.
Two of the victims were 21 years old, one was 20 and one was 40.
Man robbed at gunpoint in Mid-City
A 43-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint Friday night in Mid-City, New Orleans police said.
The man was walking in the 3800 block of Baudin Street about 10 p.m. when he was approached by a man armed with a gun, who demanded his money. The victim complied, and the man fled.
Magnolia Discount store held up Saturday
A man held up a Magnolia Discount store at gunpoint early Saturday, New Orleans police said.
The man entered the store in the 3400 block of South Carrollton Avenue about 3:20 a.m. and pointed a gun at the cashier. He demanded money from the register and fled when the cashier complied.
