A five-week class on the neighborhoods of New Orleans will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesdays beginning May 28 at the Old U.S. Mint, 400 Esplanade Ave.

The $200 fee is a donation to the Friends of the Cabildo, which is presenting the class along with the Louisiana State Museum. The class is intended for adults.

John Magill, a curator at the Historic New Orleans Collection, will lead classes on the French Quarter and Faubourg St. Mary on May 28; and Treme, Bywater, and faubourgs St. John and Marigny on June 4.

Joyce Miller, a Louisiana State Museum historian, will lead a class on the Garden District, Uptown and Carrollton on June 11.

Karen Leatham, a State Museum historian, will lead a class on Broadmoor, Mid-City and Gentilly on June 18.

Charles Chamberlain, president of Historia consulting, will present a class on the postwar development of the Lakefront area, Metairie, West Bank, Chalmette and the north shore on June 25.
