The FBI and Inspector General's office are seeking information from New Orleans Public Library in the long-running investigation into Irvin Mayfield, according to a report from WWL-TV

Library Spokesman Marc Sharpe told WWL-TV an FBI agent and investigator from the IG's office visited the library on Wednesday, located on Jackson Avenue in Central City.

The FBI declined to comment, WWL-TV said.

The investigation, which was reported almost two years ago, pertains to Mayfield's alleged funneling of money from the library foundation to his jazz orchestra. Mayfield's business partner Ronald Markham was also implicated.
