Master Gardeners are bringing the science-based knowledge and expertise of the LSU AgCenter to the Audubon Insectarium as volunteers in the Audubon greenhouse in eastern New Orleans.

The greenhouse supplies vegetative food stuffs for the insects hatched and nurtured at the Audubon Insectarium Insect Rearing Facility, and supplies both host and nectar plants for the insectarium at the foot of Canal Street in downtown New Orleans.

Master Gardener Joe Baucum developed the project with the help of insectarium officials and Jefferson and Orleans parishes extension agents.
