A New Orleans police officer fired several shots at someone Thursday night but missed, according to Officer Frank Robertson, an NOPD spokesman.

Robertson said 6th District officers were attempting to serve a search warrant on a residence in the 2400 block of Third Street in Central City just after 10 p.m.

Someone inside the residence “brandished a gun and pointed it at officers,” Robertson said, leading one of the officers to fire several shots. No one was injured in the incident.

Robertson said two individuals were in custody and the investigation is still in the preliminary stages.

Members of the Public Integrity Bureau’s Force Investigation Team and the Independent Police Monitor’s Office are reviewing the incident.
