One person was killed in a crash Tuesday night on U.S. 90 in Marrero, officials said.

The crash happened around 11:20 p.m. on U.S. 90 near the intersection of Old Man River Road in Marrero, Louisiana State Police said. Ngoc Dinh, 20, of Avondale, died in the crash.

According to State Police, Dinh was driving a 1999 Nissan Maxima westbound on U.S. 90 when the vehicle crossed over the raised median and entered the eastbound lanes of U.S. 90. The vehicle traveled into the grassy area past the shoulder and struck an unoccupied tractor trailer parked on the right shoulder of U.S. 90 eastbound, State Police said.

Dinh was pronounced dead on the scene. Troopers determined that the vehicle had two bald tires in the rear. In addition, the road was wet because of recent rain, State Police said.

Dinh was wearing a seat belt, State Police said. Toxicology results are pending an autopsy.
