• Events featured in the Aug. 11th edition of The New Orleans Advocate:
Friends and Art-Lovers: Attorney Joshua Rubenstein welcomed friends and fellow art enthusiasts to the annual post-White Linen gathering he holds at his Warehouse District home.
• White Linen Night, Fabric of the city: Members of the creative class and its admirers put on their summer whites and headed to Julia Street for the annual Whitney White Linen Night, a fund- raiser for the Contemporary Arts Center presented by the New Orleans Arts District. Thousands browsed the galleries, mingled in the streets and toasted the upcoming cultural season.
• Launch Party: Boyd Satellite Gallery’s Sputnik1 was one of many opening-night parties on Whitney White Linen Night. Artists represented at Boyd Satellite included Taylor Mead, Pinkney Herbert, Michael Alexis, Sandra Russell Clark, Errol Barron, Elizabeth Fox, Audra Kohout, Derek Boshier, Blake Boyd, Joan Durran, Dave Eddington and others.
• Life at the Center: The Contemporary Arts Center threw an artists’ reception and after party for Whitney White Linen Night, a CAC fundraiser. Artists and patrons alike turned out for the celebration.
