As part of National Poetry Month, a poetry reading will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at the Latter Library, 5120 St. Charles Ave., New Orleans. Gina Ferrara, Melinda Palacio and Andy Young will read from their poetry collections. There will be a question-and-answer session and a reception. Signed book copies will be available for purchase.

EASTER EGG HUNT: There will be an Easter egg hunt for children of all ages from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at the Rosa Keller Library & Community Center, 4300 S. Broad St., New Orleans. Activities include story time, crafts, games, candy, plastic eggs with prizes and more.

PHOTO CONTEST: Amateur photographers have until April 11 to submit entries into the Spirit of Carrollton Photo Contest, sponsored by the Nix Library and Carrollton Area Network. The photos should capture the natural beauty, recreational activities and architectural highlights of Carrollton, along with people enjoying and enriching the neighborhood. The winning photographs will be displayed at various public places throughout Carrollton, including the Nix Library, 1401 S. Carrollton Ave., New Orleans. In observance of Good Friday and Easter Sunday, all library locations will be closed Friday, April 3, and Sunday, April 5.
