A Kenner man was booked on counts of aggravated battery and aggravated assault on a dating partner after a gun discharged during an argument he had with his partner about 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, striking both of them, according to Kenner police.

The police said Alex Moore, 46, was arguing with his partner of 20 years, a 55-year old man, at the Pelican Bay Garden Apartments on 42nd Street over whether food had been prepared for some guests. During the fight, Moore threw a glass of water on his partner, who was not named, and the altercation became physical.

Moore then got a gun, and as the two men struggled, the gun went off, hitting the victim in the left arm and Moore in the right hand, a news release said.

Both men were treated and released at a hospital. Moore was booked on the two counts and remained in custody Wednesday.
