New Orleans police have identified a man they allege stole cash, credit cards and cellphones from two women in the French Quarter earlier this month.

Police accuse 22-year-old Julian Asbury of robbing the women, both 28, in the 600 block of Burgundy Street about 2:15 a.m. on April 7. Police said Asbury approached them and demanded their property, while implying that an unknown object in his hand was a handgun. Police said two more men stood behind the women acting as lookouts.

All three men fled with $80 in cash, credit cards and cellphones, according to a police log of major offenses.

Police have asked anyone with information on the incident or Asbury’s whereabouts to call Detective Paul Johnson or any member of the Eighth District Persons Crimes Unit at (504) 658-6080. The suspected lookouts have not been identified.
