Update: The 29-year-old man found in Lake Pontchartain spent Sunday on a boat with friends and family, New Orleans police said.

Police said the group got into the water for a swim and when returning to the boat realized the victim was missing. Police later learned the victim did not know how to swim.

The New Orleans Police Department reports that a 29-year-old male was reported missing in Lake Pontchartrain while swimming in the 2200 block of Lakeshore Drive.

The NOPD reports the body of the missing man was later located by the New Orleans Fire Department at approximately 9:00 p.m.

The exact cause of death has yet to be determined.
