In a final push to wind down the Road Home program, state and federal authorities announced new efforts Monday to help some of the 7,000 homeowners who got rebuilding grants but didn't follow through, and about 16,000 who got elevation assistance but failed to raise their homes.

The Road Home program as a lot of Katrina victims struggled fiding receipts from seven or eight years ago and some even had to spend their money on interim housing costs.

Louisiana announced in May that it agreed to provide $2 million to put more case managers at work assisting property owners.
