NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Redevelopment Authority has released the list of properties for an amended Lot Next Door ordinance that aims to sell off the program’s remaining parcels.

Eligible Lot Next Door buyers must notify NORA of intent to purchase a property by completing an Expression of Interest form. That form will be available on NORA’s website beginning May 1. The deadline to complete an EOI form is Aug. 1. Submitting an expression of interest does not guarantee a purchase.

The list of available properties will be published in The Times-Picayune and also will be available on NORA’s website, www.noraworks.org, as well as data.nola.gov, the city’s official data catalog.

The Lot Next Door program, which started six years ago, was designed to help property owners buy adjacent lots the state bought from previous owners after Hurricane Katrina.

The City Council on Feb. 21 adopted an ordinance that loosened regulations on who can purchase Lot Next Door properties, allowing any property owner who shares a common boundary with a lot to make a bid for that piece of land.
