• NEW CANAL LIGHTHOUSE: The Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation has added Sunday hours for the New Canal Lighthouse Museum through Sept. 6. The museum will be open for guided tours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays. The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7. The museum’s regular hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. LPBF is a member of the Blue Star Museums and offers free admission to active-duty military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The cost of guided tours is $7.50 for adults, $5.50 for senior citizens, military and students, and $3 for children ages 6 to 12.
