Armed robbers struck a pharmacy on Lafayette Street in Gretna and made off with hydrocodone and oxycodone on Friday evening.

Police said two men entered the drugstore carrying boxes. They took out a handgun and demanded employees fill the boxes with the powerful painkillers.

The store’s employees were herded into a bathroom and forced to wait several minutes before calling 911 about 5:30 p.m. The two men fled in a silver Ford Mustang.

Police are searching for a person of interest who may have information in the case and who wore a “KUSH” (Keeps Us So High) pro-marijuana T-shirt into the store.

Anyone with information is asked to call Gretna police at (504) 366-4374 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
