A 5-year-old girl who learned about fire safety during a fire station visit in October put that knowledge to use Wednesday when the stove in her family's home caught fire, according to a WWL-TV report.

Cloe Woods jumped out of bed when she heard the fire alarm and ran to her blind grandmother's room to help guide her out of the house. Her actions may have save both her grandmother and herself, Kenner Fire Chief John Hellmers told WWL.
