The St. Charles Art Guild is holding a workshop with artist Mae Niolet on Wednesday, May 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the St. Charles United Methodist Church, 1905 Ormond Blvd., Destrehan.
Mae Niolet is a native of Mississippi and holds a fine arts degree from Mississippi University for Women and a masters of arts in administration from the University of New Orleans. She taught in the fine arts and visual communications programs at Delgado Community College for more than 30 years. She has conducted many workshops throughout the New Orleans area.
The workshop participants will paint watercolor ground applied to canvas, and then will create wonderful mixed media and collages.

The St. Charles Art Guild continues to plan and provide high quality art opportunities for interested budding, emerging and practicing artists. The monthly meetings, held on the first Tuesday of the month at St. Charles United Methodist Church, include a demonstration by a guest artist.
The Guild honors its members’ art endeavors through the Artist of the Month. The first, second and third place winners are displayed and rotated monthly at the Southern Latte Cafe at 13322 Highway 90, Luling. Outreach activities include providing art experiences for children and adults of all ages.
