Louisiana State Police are looking for a hit-and-run car that killed a young woman in St. Charles Parish early Thanksgiving morning.
About 1:45 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop B was notified of a fatal hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian. A woman from St. Rose died during the accident, which happened in the 300 block of La. 626, or St. Rose Avenue.
An initial investigation revealed that a car, operated by an unknown driver, was travelling southbound on La. 626 while the 25-year-old victim, Christin Allday, was walking across the road, State Police said.
Allday failed to yield to the oncoming car and was hit. S he was transported to St. Charles Parish Hospital, where she died.
Police aren’t sure whether Allday was impaired when the accident happened. Blood and urine samples will be collected by the St. Charles Coroner’s Office for toxicological analysis.
The crash is still under investigation.
