A man wearing a black-and-gold jacket and what looked like a Saints hat robbed a bank branch inside a Rouse’s supermarket at gunpoint on Thursday morning, the FBI said.

Authorities said the man walked into the store at 6600 Franklin Avenue, near the Lakefront Arena, at around 10:30 a.m. After brandishing a handgun and a note with his demands, he fled the Liberty Bank branch through the front doors of the supermarket with an “undetermined” amount of money.

The FBI quickly released a surveillance photograph of the man, describing him as a black male in his late 30s to early 40s, approximately 6 feet tall and wearing silver-rimmed glasses.

Spokesman Craig Betbeze asked anyone with information on the man to call the FBI at (504) 816-3000 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111. The Metropolitan Orleans Bank Security Association is offering up to $5,000 leading to his arrest and indictment.
