Louis Armstrong International Airport reopened Wednesday morning after shutting down for a day due to the freezing weather.

The airport, which closed Tuesday as airlines cancelled flights in the midst of winter storm warnings, is expecting its first flight in to arrive at 9:30 a.m. from Charlotte.

Flight information posted by the airport still shows significant cancellations and delays, however.

While the airport’s open, elevated roadways at the facility remain closed due to ice, airport officials tweeted Wednesday morning. Those dropping off passengers are being diverted to the surface roadways.
