The Archdiocese of New Orleans has introduced a “Where Y’at” Mass-finder app to help people find a nearby Mass that fits their schedule.
The free app available on iTunes and in the Android Market allows users to quickly search for a nearby Catholic church within the eight civil parishes of the Archdiocese of New Orleans by GPS location or by time of day they wish to attend a Mass. In addition, the app offers easy access to local and world Catholic news, push notifications of daily readings and special updates from the archdiocese.
“We continue to look for ways to utilize new media and technology in the way we communicate our faith and offer opportunities to live it every day,” said Sarah McDonald, director of the office of communications for the archdiocese. “This app makes it easy for both visitors to our city and locals to find a time and place to reconnect spiritually and experience God’s presence in his house.”
The “Where Y’at” Mass-finder app is the second app released by the Archdiocese of New Orleans. The Faith and Family app was launched in November of 2012 and has received 739 downloads since its release.
