Violence during the Christmas holidays in New Orleans continued Saturday and Sunday as New Orleans police reported a rash of shootings -- one deadly - and armed robberies.

Here's an overview of the violence occurring Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning:

6:40 p.m. Saturday: A 43-year-old man was found shot mulitple times in Treme in the 2600 block of Ursulines and died at an area hospital.

9:30 p.m. Saturday: A 24-year-old man was approached by the shooter, who searched the victim's pockets then fired at him in New Orleans East (12000 block of I-10 Service Road).

noon Saturday: A teen, estimated to be 15-17 years old, followed three people took their car in the 2400 block of Marr Avenune in Algiers, took out a gun, pointed it a 39-year-old woman's head, took her purse and cell phone and fled.

7:15 p.m. Saturday: A 79-year-old man was sitting inside his vehicle in the 2000 block of Lowerline Street when two men armed with semi-automatic weapons approached him demanding money and him getting out of his car. The victim gave the robbers cash, and they fled in his vehicle.

7:40 p.m. Saturday: A Subway in the 5900 block of Bullard Avenue was robbed at gunpoint when someone ordered a sandwich and then demanded money at the register. The employee complied, and the robber fled.

10 p.m. Saturday: A 36-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were approached in the 1200 block of South Salcedo Street by two men -- one armed with a gun, the other a knife. The men demanded the victims' property. The victims complied, and the men fled.

10 p.m. Saturday: A 49-year-old woman was entering her vehicle in the 2400 block of Jonquill in Gentilly when she was approached by a man pointing a silver gun to her face. The victim threw her keys and purse inside the vehicle, and the perpetrator got in and fled.

2 a.m. Sunday: A 33-year-old man was approached by two men in the 1200 block of St. Andrew in the Garden District area. One man pointed an automatic weapon to the victim's face while the other man searched him. The perpetrators took a pack of cigarettes, discarded the empty wallet and fled.

2:45 a.m. Sunday: A 31-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were approached by two men with one armed with a silver automatic handgun and demanding property in the 2300 block of Bienville. The victims complied giving the men a wallet and their cell phones. The robbers took $30 out of the wallet, wiped their cell phones off and gave them back.
