Almost 3,000 electric service customers in New Orleans, Metairie, Kenner and Westwego are without power this morning as the Greater New Orleans area remains gripped in a record-tying cold snap, according to Entergy’s website.

More than 2,700 of those customers are in New Orleans itself. Most of those customers are in and around the Marigny.

Joseph S. Clark Prepatory School has cancelled classes today, according to an email sent from school officials.
