The adoption program of Volunteers of America will be the beneficiary of the 23rd annual GolfStar Classic on Tuesday, March 17, at TPC Louisiana, 11001 Lapalco Blvd., Avondale.
As a licensed adoption agency for more than 70 years, Volunteers of America is a pioneer in issues such as open adoption. The adoption program works both with women facing unplanned pregnancies and with married couples struggling with fertility, and has united thousands of forever families over the decades. The Volunteers of America GolfStar Classic is the sole fundraiser benefiting the adoption program and has gained a reputation as a leading regional charity tournament.
Registration is available for individual players, foursomes, sponsors and event volunteers at www.voagno.org. A single-player ticket for the GolfStar Classic is $250 and includes cart rental, greens fee, breakfast and lunch, a golf shirt, golf balls, award reception and prizes. Raffle tickets to win a 2015 Mercedes CLA250 are available for $50 at www.voa gno.org or by calling (504) 486-8662. Only 1,500 tickets will be sold, and the winner need not be present to claim the prize. All proceeds from the tournament and raffle will benefit the adoption program.
