Sexually assaulted child brought to hospital
A mother arrived at Children’s Hospital before 7 p.m. Friday with her 5-year-old daughter, who had been sexually assaulted, New Orleans police said.
Police said they did not yet know where the assault took place.
Teenager arrested in rape attempt, robbery
A teenager sought by New Orleans police in connection with an attempted sexual assault Wednesday in New Orleans East has been arrested, police said Friday night.
NOPD spokesman Tyler Gamble said detectives had identified the youth, known on the streets as “White Boy,” as 17-year-old Jeremiah Mills.
He said Mills was in police custody and would be booked on counts of attempted aggravated rape and armed robbery.
Police said Mills tried to sexually assault a 21-year-old woman about 2 p.m. Wednesday in the 8600 block of Castle Court. They said he produced a pistol and tried to assault the victim in an alleyway, but she was able to escape and called for the police.
Man shot Friday in St. Roch neighborhood
A man, 23, flagged down an ambulance near Elysian Fields and Florida avenues about 7:20 p.m. Friday, saying he had been shot in the 2700 block of North Rocheblave Street. He was taken to a hospital.
Man robbed at gunpoint in 7th Ward
A man, 43, was getting out of his car in the 3100 block of Allen Street about 12:30 a.m. Saturday when he was approached by a man with a gun.
The robber took the victim’s car keys and items from his car before fleeing.
JPSO reports armed robbery, stabbings
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office reported these east bank crimes:
A man was held up at gunpoint before 6 a.m. Thursday at 14th Street and Severn Avenue in Metairie. He was not injured.
A man was stabbed in the 400 block of Deckbar Avenue before 5 a.m. Saturday. His wounds were not life-threatening.
A woman was stabbed in the 600 block of Hyman Drive about 5 p.m. Friday. Her wounds were not life-threatening.
