Two men have been arrested by New Orleans police after allegedly robbing a 33-year-old man in the French Quarter on Sunday night.
According to preliminary police reports, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. at the corner of Dauphine and St. Ann streets. The victim was approached by two men, one of whom pushed him against a wall, took out a gun, stole the victim's cellphone and fled.
NOPD arrested Jarrid Wells, 23, and Lance Dodd, 28.
The robbery punctuated a busy weekend of crime in the French Quarter.
Three separate shootings were reported in the area -- one early Saturday morning on Bourbon Street that killed a bar doorman, one Saturday night in the 600 block of Dumaine Street resulting from a dispute between roomates and another early Sunday morning during a fight in the 700 block of Canal Street.
