Laura Badeaux, director of the Louisiana Center for Women and Government at Nicholls State University, will be the guest speaker when the American Business Women’s Association holds its networking luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m Aug. 13 at Ralph Brennan’s Heritage Grill, 111 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie.
The event is open to all professional women, and attendees are encouraged to preregister through Eventbrite.
Badeaux’s talk, “Leadership: Power, Privilege and Politics,” will focus on the keys to effective leadership, which include communicating for understanding, flexibility and building power.
ABWA Crescent City Connections Express Network was chartered in October and has more than 60 active members. Later this year, the group will hear from Melissa Willis, owner of The Referral Institute, and from Anne Tuennerman, founder of Tales of the Cocktail.
The ABWA Crescent City Connections Express Network is open to all professional women. Membership costs $115 in annual national dues and $35 in local dues. Monthly networking luncheons are held on the second Thursday of each month; the cost is $25 for members, $30 for nonmembers and $35 for walk-ins (space permitting).
