New Orleans police are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of an unidentified man Sunday night. The shooting occurred around 9:12 p.m. in the 1600 block of Joliet Street.
A NOPD news release gave this account:
Officers were called out to investigate a call of a man down. When officers arrived, they found the unresponsive victim on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body. EMS transported the victim to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The investigation is on-going and detectives are investigating to determine a motive in the incident. The Coroner's office will release the identity of the victim once he is identified and the family is notified.

The unidentified victim died in the hospital after the shooting Sunday night, New Orleans Police said.
An unidentified man remains in critical condition after a shooting on Joliet Street Sunday night, New Orleans Police said.
The man was shot on the 1600 block of Joliet Street around 9:12 p.m. and the victim was transported to a local hospital where he died, police said.
No further details were provided.
