Entergy has 1,000 storm workers, both company employees and contractors, ready to respond to power outages in Louisiana following Tropical Storm Karen. Another 300 Entergy employees in other states also are prepared to travel into Louisiana if necessary, the public utility said Friday morning.

Louisiana’s largest power company has been criticized for its response to last year’s Hurricane Isaac, which left about 750,000 customers without service in the state, some for more than a week.
