XAVIER UNIVERSITY: One of the 550 May graduates of Xavier University is Jade Romain, founder of Khondanani Projects, which works to bring educational resources to community schools.

Romain secured surplus educational materials from local public and private schools and will ship them this summer to community schools in Chibolya, Zambia, where she worked three months with Full Circle Learning, an international nonprofit that provides educational services to community schools in developing countries.

In August, Romain will begin working toward a master’s degree in speech and language pathology from Columbia University in New York.

MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE SCHOOL OF LAW: Jason Asbill, of Harahan, has earned a juris doctor degree from the Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson.

Asbill is a graduate of East Jefferson High School, LSU and the University of New Orleans. He worked as a law clerk for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office during law school and is married to Tiffani Mayville Asbill.
