New Orleans police arrested a 20-year-old man suspected to be responsible for the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old woman July 3.
Police arrested Will Reed on Saturday and charged him with second degree murder for allegedly shooting Milan Arriola.
Arriola is the niece of jazz musician Kermit Ruffins and daughter of NOPD Officer Imani Ruffins and New Orleans Fire Department Capt. Roy Arriola Jr.
One night earlier, July 3, officers said they responded to a womam shot inside a Chevrolet Camaro on North Board Street and St. Bernanrd Avenue. When officers arrived, the victim suffered from gunshot wounds to her body and was transported to a local hospital where she later died.
Police said the victim was a passenger in the Camaro driving near Allen and Humanity streets when subjects in a dark sedan shot at the victim's car.
The victims continued driving to St. Bernard Avenue and North Broad Street where they stopped at the intersection due to gunshot damage, police said.
