The Harahan city council voted 3-1 Thursday night to reinstate full health insurance for themselves, according to a report on WWL-TV.com.

The total cost could exceed $60,000 if all five members take family coverage, even as the city faces a $1.2 million deficit on a $6 million budget.

"This is an ordinance about transparency," said Councilman Tim Baudier. "This was not an ordinance about giving ourselves a raise."
