A man was shot Tuesday night during an armed robbery in St. Claude, police said.

Around 10 p.m. Tuesday, a 26-year-old man was walking in the 1400 block of Mazant Street when he was approached from behind by a man armed with a gun, according to a New Orleans Police Department preliminary offense log. The suspect demanded the victim to the ground and removed personal property from his pants pocket, police said.

The suspect then allegedly fired one shot, striking the victim, before fleeing the scene.

Later, around 2:05 a.m. Wednesday, another man was robbed in the French Quarter. The 40-year-old man was walking in the 600 block of Dumaine Street when he was approached by two armed men who demanded his belongings, police said. The victim complied, and the suspects fled.
