JPSO reports 3 more armed robberies

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office reported three armed robberies Thursday night and early Friday morning, following three others reported in the preceding 24 hours.

In the latest incidents:

A man was robbed before 3 a.m. Friday in the 1500 block of Ames Boulevard in Marrero. He was not injured.

Two women were robbed about 10 p.m. Thursday in the 1900 block of Charleston Drive in Marrero. They were not injured.

A man was robbed before 8 p.m. Thursday in the 700 block of Central Avenue in Jefferson. He was not injured.

2 carjacked Thursday in separate incidents

Two people were carjacked in separate incidents Thursday night in New Orleans East, police said.

A 19-year-old woman was carjacked near Morrison and Wright roads about 7:30 p.m, according to police.

The woman said she was in her vehicle when a man approached her and demanded she get out of the vehicle. He then drove off in it.

Later, a 51-year-old man was carjacked in the 10800 block of Chef Menteur Highway about 9:30 p.m., police said.

The man had stopped to make a phone call when two men with a gun approached him and demanded he get out of the vehicle, according to police. The victim compiled, and the men drove away in his vehicle.

2 men robbed at gunpoint on Palmyra

Two men were held up at gunpoint Thursday night in Mid-City, New Orleans police said.

The 28-year-old and 25-year-old victims were walking in the 2600 block of Palmyra Street about 7:15 p.m. when two armed men demanded their property. The victims complied and the robbers fled in a black Jeep.

Subway robbed on South Claiborne Ave.

A man robbed the Subway store at 2700 S. Claiborne Ave. about 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

The man hopped over the counter and took money from the cash register before fleeing, police said. While a preliminary police report did not mention a weapon, the case is classified as an armed robbery.

Girl reports sexual assault in Algiers

A female juvenile was sexually assaulted in Algiers, police said.

The incident was reported about 1 a.m. Friday in the 3500 block of Garden Oaks Drive, according to the NOPD.

Police: Woman stabs boyfriend during fight

A woman cut her boyfriend with a knife during an argument Thursday morning in New Orleans East, police said.

The 29-year-old man was arguing with his girlfriend near Read Boulevard and the South Interstate 10 Service Road about 10:30 a.m. when the woman took out a knife and cut him, police said.
