New Orleans police on Monday arrested a third suspect in the fatal shooting this summer of 17-year-old Gerald Morgan.

Joseph Dixon, also known as Joseph Davis, 18, was taken into custody at a home on Coventry Street in New Orleans East. He was booked on second-degree murder and five counts of attempted second-degree murder.

Morgan was gunned down July 21 in front of a residence on Boeing Street. A 4-year-old boy also was wounded.

Two other suspects — 19-year-old Damond Jackson and 18-year-old Sterling Lewis — were arrested in the shooting last week.
