The fun of a baseball game will be combined with the excitement of learning about science, technology, engineering and math during STEM Day at the New Orleans Zephyrs game Monday.

More than 10,000 students and teachers are expected to turn out for the 11 a.m. game against the Omaha Storm Chasers at Zephyr Field, 6000 Airline Drive, in Metairie. School group tickets are $3 per person and must be purchased in advance through Friday, by calling Zephyrs Group Sales at (504) 734-5155. Game-day tickets are $12 per person.

Core Element, a local nonprofit, is organizing the hands-on STEM exploration stations, activities and experiments that will involve nearly 30 STEM-focused organizations, businesses and community partners.

Topics will include animal adaptation and conservation, coastal resilience, chemistry, computer science, density, DNA sequences, electric motors, electricity, environmental science, gases and galaxy, information theory, the NASA Space Program, natural gas, petroleum engineering and physics.
