A Jefferson Parish grand jury Thursday handed up a four-count indictment, including for second-degree murder, against a Marrero man.

The charges against Michael A. Brown, 22, stem from a February double shooting in Marrero that killed Tyrone “Moe” Jenkins and wounded Terrance Neal.

Brown, who goes by the nickname “Junior,” was indicted on one count of second-degree murder, one count of attempted second-degree murder, one count of intimidating a witness and one count of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Jenkins was found shot to death Feb. 2 in the courtyard of an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Dimarco Drive. Neal was found shot two blocks away and taken to a hospital.

Brown is being held in Jefferson Parish Prison on $1.25 million bail.

The case will be heard by Judge Cornelius Regan in 24th Judicial District Court in Gretna.
