Metairie Music Club junior members win recognition for their compositions _lowres

The overall winner of the Junior Composers Contest of the Metairie Music Club is Christopher Vuong, for his piano composition “Sailing the Seven Seas.” His teacher is Melanie Perez.

The winner in Junior Class I, for ages 9 and younger, is Alaina Mai for her piano composition “Music Climbing.” Her teacher is Melanie Perez.

The winner in Junior Class II, for ages 10 to 12, is Lily Rabalais for her piano composition “Tranquility.” Her teacher is Vicki Key.

The winner in Junior Class III, for ages 13 to 15, is Adam Robert Ledet for his piano composition “The Pirate Ship.” His teacher is Perez.

The winner in Junior Class IV, for ages 16-18, is Mitchell Knauer for his piano composition “The Nanny’s Lullaby.” His teacher is Donna Ancar.

The compositions are eligible for state, regional and national competition.
