The staff and board of Raintree Children and Family Services recently planted a tree in memory of a 2-year-old boy who died from smoke inhalation in a house fire involving neglect.

Raintree Children and Family Services, a United Way partner agency, has served since 1926 in the greater New Orleans area. Its mission is to provide services to at-risk children and youths.

Raintree helps abused and neglected youths through the Raintree House and Family Foster Care programs. Additionally, its Family Support Coordination program helps infants with developmental disabilities.
