Mistletoe Street in Hollygrove was the scene of an armed burglary during a New Year’s Eve night house party, when three armed men wearing black hoodies snuck into the home through an unlocked door and wrested cash and other items from four victims at gunpoint, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

The victims of the 9 p.m. attack ranged in age from 16 to 44, the oldest being a woman and the rest males, police said.

One man had his wallet, $20 cash and a credit card taken, while another victim was held at gunpoint. A third victim’s credit card and ID were stolen, while the perpetrators took $80 from a fourth, male victim before fleeing down the street, police said.

A report from WVUE-TV cited victims of the assault saying 14 people, mostly children, were in the house in the 3400 block of Mistletoe for the birthday party of a 7-year-old girl when the gunmen stormed it.

The TV station’s report says the birthday girl hid with a woman in a closet, and that a gunman opened the closet door and pointed the weapon at the woman’s head.

They wished the victims “happy holidays” on their way out, the eport says.
