A brand-new car was a powerful incentive for perfect attendance for 53 seniors who attend Orleans Parish School Board direct-run and charter schools. The students recently had the opportunity to win a new 2015 Scion from Premier Automotive as part of Premier’s ninth annual Stay in School Program.
The drawing was May 15, and the winner was An’Shalai Anthony, a graduating senior from Warren Easton. More Easton students were eligible than from any other school.
Students who did not win the car were eligible for scholarships provided by area businesses partnering with Premier. This year’s partners include All-Star Electric, Mobile One, Citadel Builders, Gulf States Toyota, Scion, Crescent Bank and Enterprise Holdings.
“Each year our seniors look forward to the opportunity to win a new car or financial help for college,” said Orleans Parish School Board Superintendent Henderson Lewis. “It’s a great incentive which urges them to come to school every day throughout the year.”
