Read columnist and photographer Steven Forster’s coverage of New Orleans’ social events at The Advocate.

Events featured in the July 21th edition of The New Orleans Advocate:

• Everybody dance now!: The Chard Gonzalez Dance Theatre performed pop up dance on St. Claude Avenue during the St. Claude Art openings.

• From L.A. to La.: Good Children Art Gallery opened its latest show, “P.S. 1010 - Bus Stop: New Orleans,” featuring work by the Los Angeles collective Concord. The exhibit continues through Aug. 4.

• Art Walk This Way: The Front Art Gallery held an opening reception with work by Jonathan Traviesa, Erica Lambertson, Vanessa Centeno, Pinky Bass, Heidi Kumao, Sarah Cusimano Miles, Karen Edmunds, Jan Gilbert, Monica Zeringue, and Lee Deigaard. The multi-room gallery is a popular stop on the monthly St. Claude Avenue Art Walk.

• Nights in White Linen: Artists modeled men’s and women’s fashions in summery white while spectators previewed cocktails for the Whitney White Linen Night 2013 style show at Macy’s in Metairie. The event gave art-lovers a chance to see and select their outfits for the upcoming White Linen Night, Aug. 3.
