“St. Ann Celebrates 40 Groovy Years: 1975-2015” was the theme for the annual Fall Family Fest hosted by St. Ann Church and School in Metairie on Oct. 2-3.
A pep rally kicked things off Thursday. Highlights of the weekend festival included the tot trot and fun run Saturday morning. A special pre-race stretch was led by members of the 610 Stompers, with assistance from St. Ann parochial vicar the Rev. Travis Clark.
Students in pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and first grade performed “YMCA,” “Jungle Boogie” and “Kung Fu Fighting” for family, friends and festgoers. The St. Ann School band, choir and cheerleaders also performed onstage Saturday.
Music came from St. Ann pastor the Rev. Billy O’Riordan, along with Notre Dame deminarians Matthew Hoffpauir and David Frank, along with Paris Avenue, Rockin’ Dopsie Jr. and the Zydeco Twisters, Bench Warmers and Top Cats.
Proceeds from the festival will benefit school improvements.
