Police want to question two in armed robberies

New Orleans police are asking for the public’s help in locating one person and identifying another who might have information about several recent armed robberies in Faubourg Marigny.

Police think Latreasurlyn Johnson and another unknown person might have information about the spate of robberies.

Police released pictures of both people Friday.

Anyone with information about them is asked to contact Detective Michael Flores or Detective Steve Nolan at the 8th District station at (504) 658-6080.

N.O. police investigate robberies, carjacking

New Orleans police are investigating the following incidents reported Friday in a daily crime log:

Armed robbery, 1:59 p.m. Thursday, in the 12300 block of the south Interstate 10 Service Road, New Orleans East. Two men walked into a business and demanded money. They took cash from the register and fled.

Armed robbery, 4:58 p.m. Thursday, at Chantilly Drive and Chef Menteur Highway, Gentilly. A 24-year-old man was robbed of his backpack, wallet and cellphone.

Armed robbery, 5:43 p.m. Thursday, in the 3500 block of Fourth Street, Central City. An unknown man walked up to the 26-year-old victim and demanded his belongings. He took the victim’s Rolex and cash and fled.

Carjacking, 2:27 a.m. Friday, at St. Charles and South Carrollton avenues, Uptown. The 16-year-old victim was approached by an unknown man who ordered him out of his car and drove away in it.

Armed robbery, 2:54 a.m. Friday, at Caffin Avenue and North Rampart Street, Lower 9th Ward. Two unknown men walked up to a 51-year-old man and took his wallet and cash.

Man shot early Friday at Metairie intersection

A man was shot early Friday morning in Metairie.

The shooting happened at Airline Drive and Elm Street about 1:15 a.m., the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office said.

The victim’s injuries were not serious.
