Blessed Francis X. Seelos Catholic Church parish hosted its annual Good Friday Way of the Cross.
The day began at sunrise as members of the community came together to make a carpet that depicts different times in the history of the church. The carpet is made up of sawdust, egg shells, rice and beans.
The church community came together for the re-enactment of the crucifixion of Christ. One member of the community acts the part of Christ, and at the completion of the scrutiny on the church’s parking lot, the congregation is led through the carpet. This is a reminder that what took place in the past is to save the future.
The congregation then travels though the Bywater neighborhood, to designated locations for the station of the cross. The event ends with the crucifixion depicted on the church grounds.
