One person is dead and two others injured after a shooting early Wednesday in the French Quarter.
At 2 a.m. Wednesday, New Orleans police were called to the 600 block of Iberville Street, where they found a 35-year-old man fatally shot and lying in the street. A 31-year-old male had been shot in the torso and a 27-year-old man had a graze wound to the leg.
Detectives found a handgun under the 35-year-old man's body and another handgun on the scene, according to a news release from the New Orleans Police Department. Detectives believe an argument ensued from an earlier incident, at which time gunfire erupted.
Both the 31-year-old and 27-year-old men were listed in stable condition.
Names have not been released pending notification of family members. The coroner will perform an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing, and detectives are working to determine a motive, suspects and any witnesses to the incident.
