The Entergy IMAX Theater closed for one month for renovations, the facility announced in a statement Tuesday.

The theater will reopen Oct. 15 with a transition from a 70mm IMAX projection system to a digital system and enhanced sound. The giant screen also will be replaced with another screen that will remain one of the largest in the Gulf South.

Located next door to the Aquarium of The Americas, Entergy IMAX features the power of a 5.5 story screen with sound.

The IMAX theater opened in 1995.
