Leadership training opportunities took students from De La Salle High School to nearly opposite sides of the world over the summer.

A Global Student Leadership Conference presented by Education First brought seven students and De La Salle advancement coordinator Jessica Meehan to Davos, Switzerland. The students were rising freshmen Trevor Mills, Alexander Coit and Henry Fairbanks; rising sophomores Zoë Stambaugh, Mary Frank and Ricky Williamson; and rising senior Carter Burwell.

The conference carried the theme “The Future of Education and Innovation in Education.” Students used design thinking to identify challenges and design solutions to the challenges facing education.

In the San Francisco Bay area, 130 degrees to the west, a Lasallian Student Leadership conference at St. Mary’s College attracted 12 De La Salle students and two advisers.

The students were seniors Colton Gray, Jordan Rankins and Allie Simmons; and juniors Brandon Blackwell, Sydney Briscoe-Curtis, Jackie Johnson, Chloé Rihner, Tyler Mouton, Demi Robinette, Raekwon Thomas, Mia Steward and Ricco Wheat. Accompanying them were math teacher Kate Cunningham and director of student activities Justin Martineau.
