Golden luncheon is Friday: The monthly Lakeview Golden Community luncheon is Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 6690 Fleur de Lis, the Unitarian Church, corner of 38th Street.

St. Paul’s Women’s group will prepare spinach lasagna and Peoples Health will provide a birthday cake and presents for members who have March birthdays. The luncheon is at 6690 Fleur de Lis (Community Church Unitarian Church, corner of 38th Street).

A group of comedy sketch artists called the Top of the Hill Players will perform a skit called “Full of Blarney.”

The Lakeview Shepherd Center is a nonprofit dedicated to enabling older adults to remain vital, independent, promote positive aging and celebrate senior wisdom and talent. Discussions focus on Claiborne Avenue: Livable Claiborne Communities will hold two meetings to discuss plans and ideas for improving neighborhoods around Claiborne Avenue. The public is invited.

From 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday the meeting will be held at Joseph A. Craig Elementary School, 1423 St. Philip St. There will be workshops and an open house.

Another meeting will be held from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Ashe Cultural Arts Center, 1712 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd.

The Claiborne corridor is the subject of a study that has measured population patterns, housing development, transportation options and economic opportunity financed by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
