Ursuline math students win 7 awards in state competition _lowres

Members of the mathematics honor society from Ursuline Academy in New Orleans competed against 800 top math students from more than 30 schools at the Mu Alpha Theta state convention in Baton Rouge on April 7-9.

First-place winners were Abbe Tassin, Calculus Integration, and Madison Vise, Puzzlements.

Also earning honors were Tassin and Brittany Robert, fifth place in Calculus Gemini; Robert, sixth place in Puzzlements; Madeline Walker, sixth place in Calculus Integration; Aimée Petitbon, eighth place in Puzzlements; and Morgan Assavedo and Lauren Hinkel, ninth place in Calculus Gemini.

Other members of the Mu Alpha Theta team are Kate Browning, Isabel Chauvin, Katherine Musso, Elena Nusloch, Neha Samtani, Julia Signorelli and Gabby Witter. The team is led by sponsor Aaron Walters and teacher Emmanuel Zervoudakis.
